Sainsanaa Amarsanaa is a Mongolian Environmental and Renewable Energy Engineer currently working as a Senior Specialist at the UNCCD COP17 National Committee Office. Her career sits at the crossroads of technical expertise and strategic advocacy — combining hands-on experience in GHG inventory calculation with a deep commitment to driving systemic climate action.

A DAAD EPOS scholarship recipient, Sainsanaa earned her MEng in Energy and Environmental Management from Europa Universität Flensburg, Germany. Her international project experience includes serving as Renewable Energy Group Lead for the Aran Islands Sustainable Energy Pathway Project in Ireland — conducting solar, wind, and wave resource assessments and engaging local stakeholders.

Sainsanaa believes that youth voices are essential catalysts for real change. From representing Asia-Pacific youth at the ESCAP 79th Session in Bangkok, to serving as a COP29 Youth Delegate in Baku where she engaged directly with ministers and UN agencies.

She contributed to Mongolia's NDC 3.0 development process working at GIZ and, in 2022, monitored the implementation of youth-focused development plans across Bayanzurkh and Bayangol Districts under Ulaanbaatar's District Governors' Youth Action Plan — assessing community engagement and reporting on outcomes at a local governance level. Recognized as Mongolia's 2023 Youth of the Year and awarded Best Position Paper at MUN Flensburg's Human Rights Council in 2024, Sainsanaa continues to bridge the gap between engineering solutions and meaningful social impact — through international policy work, her role as co-host of the climate podcast Beyond the Greenhouse.
