Career Synthesis & Impact Narrative
My academic and professional journey has been driven by a simple yet profound question: how can societies ensure that equality is not merely a principle enshrined in law, but a reality experienced by everyone. As a lawyer and researcher pursuing a PhD at the University of Kassel, Germany, I explore this question through my work on the implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UN CRPD).
My research compares the experiences of Germany and Japan, examining how legal frameworks, social policies, and institutional practices can advance equality, non-discrimination, and inclusive development. With a background in labor and social security law, my interests extend beyond academia to the broader challenges of social justice, disability rights, and sustainable development.
I am particularly interested in how international human rights standards can inspire practical solutions that create more inclusive and accessible societies. I believe that meaningful change begins with bridging research and practice.
Through my work, I aspire to contribute to policies and institutions that empower individuals, reduce inequalities, and ensure that human dignity and equal opportunity are at the heart of social progress.
